Stolaroid Room

What’s Stolaroid Room?

Stolaroid Room is a free online storytelling event where participants share their stories and photos in English. It’s a chance to practice English, improve your fluency and connect with other people through your shots, life experiences and stories.

How much does it cost?

It’s free!

I’ll announce new dates in July.

Once you’ve registered, you will receive a passcode and a Zoom link that you can use to log in to any of these sessions, so you only need to register once.

On Zoom. You will receive the link and the pass code by email after you’ve registered.

What happens in the session?

It’s a speaking session. You’ll share one of your photos and the story behind it in groups. So have your photo ready on your computer because you’ll have to share your screen for your group to see it.

You’ll listen to other participants’ life stories and receive some expert language feedback on your English.

What photo should I bring to the session?

Bring any photo you like and tell us a story about it. Here are some ideas if you need some inspiration:

  • A photo of a particularly happy / sad / exciting / embarrassing moment in your life and how this affected you.
  • A photo of a person you met and how they changed your life.
  • A photo of a moment / situation / event that made you reflect or change your mind about
    something or someone.

If you’d like to listen to some of my personal true stories to get some inspiration, you can listen to my podcast here.

What level of English do I need to participate?

Anyone between B1 (intermediate) and C2 (proficient) can participate.

I’m an English teacher, can I participate?

Yes, you can! But you’re not allowed to teach English during the session 🙂
